What Changed Rebuilt the core product surface around relationship health, pods, campaigns, and action-ready records.

I rebuilt RealDeal into a relationship intelligence product for people whose networks are part of the work itself. Built with and used by Gwyneth Paltrow, this public case study keeps the details high-level and focuses on the product decisions, interface work, and rebuild principles that are safe to show.

The rebuild was for a high-context team managing investors, founders, partners, companies, and repeat follow-ups. The useful version of the product had to make the next action clear without exposing private relationship details.

Built Around

  • Relationship Health
  • Pods
  • Campaigns
  • Records

Stack

  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Vite
  • Airtable

The product started as a way to organize high-context relationship work without forcing it into a sales CRM shape. The rebuild gave the app clearer navigation, a stronger data model, and pages that matched how the work actually happens: map the network, track the health of each group, run focused campaigns, and keep records clean enough to trust.

01

Trust before automation

The app needed to make relationship context easier to review before asking users to delegate more work to it.

02

Cadence over clutter

The important question was not how much data existed. It was who needed attention and why.

03

Pages for real workflows

Pods, dashboard, campaigns, and records became separate surfaces because each supports a different mode of work.

Pods

Grouped relationships by operating context so the user can scan a network as a set of living circles, not a flat contact table.

Dashboard

Translated relationship activity into health signals, recent touches, overdue groups, and the next useful actions.

Campaigns

Made dinners, fundraises, introductions, and outreach trackable from start to finish.

Records

Created cleaner people and company records so important context could survive handoffs and repeated use.
